Jets’ Garrett Wilson Lost Bet to Reporter Over Ohio State-Michigan Game

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is a man of his word.

Wilson, who played his college ball at Ohio State, made a bet with Jets reporter Caroline Hendershot, who attended the University of Michigan. After the Buckeyes’ 30–24 loss to the Wolverines, Wilson had to honor the terms of his bet and serve a punishment, which he did while arriving for his media session with New York reporters on Friday.

In a horrifying sight that is likely the stuff of nightmares for Ohio State fans, Wilson took to the podium with a blue Michigan sweatshirt on. Here’s what the Jets wideout had to say about the bet, per the team’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I lost a few bets, I lost to Caroline, so me and (Jeremy) Ruckert are in some Michigan gear today and that’s how it should be. But next year it ain’t going to be this way. She’s had to deal with some losing seasons too.”

Wilson joked that he was trying to cover up the Michigan logo on his sweatshirt, adding that wearing Wolverine blue didn’t “feel good.”

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, a former standout at Ohio State, lost a bet on ‘The Game’ with reporter and Michigan alumna Caroline Hendershot.

The Jets receiver will have to hope his alma mater can right the ship against Michigan soon, as the Buckeyes have now lost three straight to their bitter rivals after running off a streak of eight consecutive victories in The Game.

As for Wilson, he’ll be looking to help his Jets stop a skid of their own against the Falcons on Sunday.
