Power Slap is coming to pay-per-view.
The inaugural Power Slap pay-per-view will take place on Saturday, March 11, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Sports Illustrated has learned.
UFC Fight Night’s main card, headlined by a critical bantamweight bout pitting Petr Yan against Merab Dvalishvili, will run earlier that night at 6 p.m. ET from The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas.
The new slap-fighting organization remains controversial, but that has not stopped it from generating significant momentum on social media staples such as TikTok and Instagram. The ratings for Power Slap: Road to the Title jumped from week one to week two, and episode three will air Wednesday on TBS.
The first-ever Power Slap champions will be crowned at the pay-per-view in four different weight classes, including heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, and welterweight. Undefeated slap fighter Darius “The Destroyer” Mata-Varona and “Wolverine” Ron Bata–who are the two coaches on Power Slap–will compete for the heavyweight title.
Power Slap runs for a total of eight weeks on TBS, setting up the final episode for March 8.
