Ons Jabeur vs. Coco Gauff Prediction, Odds and Pick for French Open Quarterfinal

Coco Gauff, 2023 US Open Winner, is into the quarterfinal at Roland-Garros in hopes of making a second French Open title match after making it in 2022.

Gauff will face Ons Jabeur, who is into the quarterfinals of this Grand Slam for the second consecutive year, but has struggled against the top ranked American woman tennis player in the world.

Jabeur has had for more trouble getting to this point, needing far more court time than Gauff, who hasn’t dropped a set this tournament.

The odds reflect a likely Gauff victory, but can Jabeur stay competitive? Here are the odds and our best bet for the French Open quarterfinals.

This is the second French Open meeting between these two, Gauff steamrolled Jabeur in a 2-0 (6-3, 6-1) win back in the 2021 fourth round, but Jabeur has been far better on clay since.

While the Tunisian has played more this tournament than she likely would have liked, she has been capable of beating Gauff in the past, including on clay in 2020 (Charleston). Gauff hasn’t dropped a set at Roland-Garros yet, but she hasn’t faced a top 30 competitor just yet.

Jabeur, No. 9 in the world, is one of the better on serve on clay, winning more than 69% of her service matches on clay in non-French Open meetings, per TennisAbstract.com. Her ability to hold off break opportunities is going to be imperative against the pace of Gauff, in hopes of dragging matches to a tiebreak and opening up an upset opportunity.

In five losses on clay this season, Jabeur has only lost one of those in straight sets, which included a tiebreaker. She has been able to stay close to opponents throughout this swing and while Guaff is rightfully the favorite, I believe this won’t be a blowout.

My preferred bet in this match is Jabeur +5.5 games in hopes that she can extend the match, or possibly take a set in order to secure this massive spread.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jannik Sinner Prediction, Odds and Pick for French Open Semifinals

Two of the brightest stars in the sport of tennis meet with a first time spot in the French Open finals on the line.

Jannik Sinner is set to be the No. 1 player in the world for the first time in history, but will need to get past two-time Grand Slam champ Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 3 player in the world.

Both set to rule the sport, both elite on clay, both trying to win it all at Roland-Garros for the first time.

Here’s our full betting preview for the highly anticipated semifinal on Friday.

These two have a competitive head-to-head against one another, 5-4 in favor of the Spaniard, including each winning a match on clay. However, that doesn’t translate as much considering the two matches were in 2022 and 2019.

Sinner is enjoying a career run that includes an Australia Open title, moving closer to Alcaraz in terms of how he is viewed in the sport, but the odds are rightfully with the U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion, who entered the tournament as the favorite and has backed it up with a dominant run to date. Alcaraz has dropped only one set and looks primed to avenge his cramp issue in the semifinals last year against Novak Djokovic.

Sinner is 28-3 on the year, losing one match on clay (he did withdraw from another), but there is no denying that Alcaraz has far more upside between the two on this surface.

Instead of taking a side, I believe we are primed to see plenty of twists and turns in this one, including plenty of outstanding play.

The two players have consistently pushed each other, only two matches have been straight sets, and the lone Grand Slam meeting went to a deciding fifth that included two tiebreakers.

I expect at least four sets, and plenty of drawn out games with the potential of tiebreaks.

Over is my favorite way to bet this match.

Coco Gauff vs. Iga Swiatek Prediction, Odds and Pick for French Open Semifinals

Iga Świątek has responded to a slow start to the French Open to looking like the outright favorite she was listed before the start.

Świątek has demolished the competition since a close call in the second round against Naomi Osaka, winning three straight matches while dropping eight games across them, including a 6-0, 6-2 quarterfinals win against No. 6 Markéta Vondroušová.

Świątek faces No. 3 Coco Gauff in the semifinals in hopes of making a fourth semifinals in five years.

The No. 1 player in the world has owned this head-to-head matchup against the U.S. Open champion Gauff, winning 10 of 11 matches, will that continue on Thursday?

It’s staggering to see Świątek listed as a -850 favorite against the No. 3 player in the world, but that is the gap between Swiatek and the top players on clay right now. The winner of three of the last four French Open titles is playing at her peak and should have little issue overpowering Gauff yet again.

So, what’s the best way to bet it?

I believe it’s the under on games.

Gauff hasn’t put her first serve in at greater than 60% since the first round, but no player has made the No. 3 player pay. However, that’ll be a different story against Świątek, who is converting 53% of her break point opportunities.

When the two players met in Rome a few weeks ago, a 6-4, 6-3 win for Świątek, Gauff was able to fend off seven of 11 break points. However, given Świątek’s prowess on return, I believe she will be able to convert at a far higher clip if Gauff isn’t able to raise her first-serve percentage.

While that meeting on May 16th squeaked over the total of 19.5 games, I believe that the current form of Świątek is even better and she can find more separation on the scoreboard.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Carlos Alcaraz Prediction, Odds and Pick for French Open Quarterfinal

Two top 10 foes meet at Roland-Garros in the French Open quarterfinals on Tuesday evening.

World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz has owned his career series against No. 9 Stefanos Tsitsipas, winning all five matches against his Greek opponent in his career. Can the Spanish phenom continue his excellence on clay in hopes of pushing closer to winning his first French Open title?

Here are the odds and our best bet for the Tuesday quarterfinal matchup:

Both players have been lightly tested during this Grand Slam tournament, but it’s tough to look past the historical results and see that Alcaraz is a justified favorite, winning all five matches, including last year in this same situation.

In the 2023 French Open, Alcaraz beat Tsitsipas 3-0 (6-2, 6-1, 7-6) to advance to the semifinals. While Alcaraz has dealt with some injury issues this year in the lead-up to Roland-Garros, there is still a gap between the two and I believe the Spaniard is well-equipped to handle his opponent.

Alcaraz has made his first serve at 67% or higher in all four matches thus far, making it hard for any opponent to generate much traction while returning and hoping to get breakpoints. Further, given Alcaraz’s ability on clay to return, he has broken 35% of opponent's games in 86 non-French Open clay matches in his career, I trust him to cash in on more opportunities throughout the match.

Tsitsipas hasn’t proven to be able to compete with Alcaraz in the past, and while fitness concerns were an issue at the start of the tournament, I’m confident that the former No. 1 in the world can win in straight sets to get to the semis.
