JJ Watt is spending more time on the golf course now that he has officially retired from the NFL, but his impressive football career doesn’t mean a thing when you’re navigating a bunker, apparently.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year posted a video of himself Saturday in a bit of a peculiar situation that required some assistance. Watt could be seen slowly sliding down a steep slope into a bunker and struggling to hold himself up and can be heard saying, “I have no plan.” It was a bit of an embarrassing predicament for the 34-year-old, but fortunately, former NBA guard JR Smith appeared and yanked all 288 pounds of Watt back to safety.
Take a look for yourself:
“Sometimes all it takes is one key assist from JR Smith,” Watt wrote on Twitter. “I’m just glad I didn’t take both of us down. (Don’t ask why or how I got myself into this predicament. There is no logical explanation.)”
In a reply, Watt called Smith a “legend” for his heroics. Smith fell to the ground after pulling Watt out of the bunker, and the two can be heard hysterically laughing.
“I don’t know what the thought was,” Watt said in an attempt to explain his mindset. “What the f—.”
