Joe Burrow Shares Super Bowl Message for Patrick Mahomes

Very few people know what it’s like to fall just short of the Super Bowl—and then have to shake the hand of the man who handed you the heartbreaking defeat. After the AFC championship game Sunday, cameras caught a brief exchange between Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow where the Bengals quarterback appeared to give his adversary a message.

After winning 23–20, the Chiefs quarterback told Burrow, “Many more, dog, many more. Hell of a game.” It’s clear Mahomes knows this isn’t the last he’ll see of Burrow in his career and Burrow had nothing but respect for the Kansas City signal-caller.

“Go win it,” Burrow said on Super Bowl LVII.

Mahomes simply replied, “Yes sir.” Much was made of the rivalry between the two teams thanks to some trash talk on both sides, but not the quarterbacks. It appeared to start when Bengals players and fans started to call Arrowhead Stadium “Burrowhead” since the Cincinnati quarterback was undefeated against Kansas City until Sunday night.

Regardless, it doesn’t seem like there was ever any disrespect between the two, and Burrow wants Mahomes to go all the way.
